Appeal for Reports |
||
At the city centre neighbourhood team we are aware of consistent issues with youth-related anti-social behaviour. This includes groups of young people, often covering their faces, running into business premises and causing a scene. In the past we have seen groups steal and throw eggs, assault staff and be abusive to passersby.
However, one big challenge for our team is that we often don't get the reports. Many people see something happen, and assume that somebody else will make the call to us or let us know. Unfortunately, in many instances, this means it goes unreported. As a police force we deal not only in crime but also with anti-social behaviour. ASB can often escalate to more serious criminal offences if left unchecked and we have a fantastic working relationship with our local Anti-Social Behaviour Action Team (ASBAT).
Please report any issues you are having so that we can use that information to take action against the perpetrators and steer them away from escalating their damaging behaviour. Your support is genuinely valued and can make a serious difference, giving us the power and the direction to focus on those causing the most harm.
Are you seeing many of these issues? When/where does it happen? How does it affect you? Get in touch and speak to us about it.
You can reply directly to this message and we will get back to you. | ||
